An Open House was held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 10 am to 2 pm to celebrate National Bowls Day in Canada. Approximately 45 individuals of all ages came out to give lawn bowling a try. Our members were there to welcome visitors and provide guidance on our new artificial greens. Snacks, hotdogs, drinks and prizes made this a fun event for everyone! Here are a few photos to enjoy.
Yes we did! Because of our new artificial greens, we were able to lawn bowl on Halloween for the first time ever, with members and affiliate members from Langley club participating. The new greens are great and everyone had a wonderful time in spite of it being a little chilly! Afterwards we went inside to warm up with hot coffee, tea and halloween cake and treats. A few members even showed up in costume….looks like this will become another favourite annual event!
Anyone wishing to learn more about lawn bowling is encouraged to contact us at: email@example.comIn April of 2018 we will once again partner with Recreation Surrey to hold a free Try It/Introduction to Lawn Bowling Session as well as a “paid” series of 4 Lessons plus Mini-Tournament/Social for those wishing to learn how to lawn bowl.
Each year local school groups are invited to come out and learn the basics of lawn bowling. The students have a great time on the greens and are generally quite surprised by the amount of physical strength and skill required to lawn bowl. Our club volunteers are committed to showing that, indeed, lawn bowling can be fun for all ages!
There will be no lawn bowling during the month of January 2022.
